Sonya began her love of business at twelve, helping her family’s small business. This sparked her entrepreneurial journey, with various ventures offering valuable lessons. Her philosophy: “Nothing ventured, nothing gained.” Her passion for learning led to becoming a school teacher and trainer/assessor, favoring alternative education. She enjoys iPhone photography, nature, car camping, family time, and learning new digital technologies.
A new trainer from regional Victoria, Suk brings a diverse background and passion for teaching. Moving to Melbourne in 2012 and returning in 2016, she had triplets in 2020. Returning to Melbourne in 2021, she enjoys dogs, houseplants, coffee, sports, and teaching accounting.
Meet Liz, a CPA with over 13 years of experience in the finance industry, working with ASX 100 companies worldwide. For the past decade, Liz has been sharing her expertise as a CPA program expert, guiding aspiring accountants on their journey. In addition to her professional commitments, she is deeply dedicated to her community, serving as a board member and treasurer for various nonprofit organisations.
Liz’s family remains the cornerstone of her life. Cherishing the moments spent with her loved ones, they are her driving force and the heart of everything she does.
Karin is an experienced IPA Fellow specializing in Forensic Accounting with over 30 years of corporate and small business accounting expertise. Her focus is on enhancing internal controls to prevent fraud. While she used to be an avid skydiver, she now finds joy in family life with my spouse, four kids, a labrador, and three cats. Karin relaxes with books, computer games, and binge-watching shows or podcasts.
Gradon is an IT trainer with a Master of Information Technology and rich teaching experience in domestic and international education. He has worked as an IT web developer, programming, and database management expert. He has experienced a few IT projects, including website and mobile application development, which practically makes him familiar with vocational education in IT.
Gradon also provides academic support with his knowledge to university students to assist them in achieving outcomes in IT fields. He is passionate about providing sustainable improvement to ensure
the quality of education.
Petra is a certified Personal Branding & Digital Strategist, international Speaker & Consultant and author of the book “Trusted Authority”. She specialises in helping professionals and companies become the Trusted Authorities in their industry.
Petra is the Founder of impaCCCt and The360Talent.Co – both companies are designed to future-proof individuals and organisations through coaching, training and keynotes that make long-lasting change.
Petra recently launched Your Brand. Your Future, a top rated Personal Brand Podcast show, is an official Forbes Coaches Council Member, and has been featured on forbes.com, the CEO Magazine, news.com.au and multiple podcasts.
Tyler has over a decade of experience in coaching and business development across fitness, education and, more recently, technology sectors. “There is something deeply satisfying about facilitating other’s personal and professional development, and I find the intricacies of business immensely fascinating—both offering lifelong learning opportunities”.
While more recently, Tyler has been delivering executive coaching and training for leadership development, he has been responsible for the entire employee life cycle across talent acquisition, training, employee agreements, and most generalist HR responsibilities. As of 2022, Tyler is in his second year of an Executive MBA (Masters of Business Administration).
Kellie is the Creative Director at KelticRed and has worked across a range of marketing and non marketing roles, giving her a broad perspective of how to market to different industries. Along with her marketing degree she loves to constantly learn, most recently studying with The Disney Institute and Walt Disney World in their Business Excellence Program, working on brand development strategies and marketing projects.
Terrena has 15+ years experience managing HR, IT, and marketing projects across a variety of industry sectors, including government, retail, aged care, hospitals, mining, education, hospitality, facilities management and, most recently, associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. She has also led Australia-wide, APAC regional and global projects within the past 7 years as a senior manager in one of the world’s largest organisations. Terrena has taught vocational and university-level Project Management for over 10 years and is a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and Association for Talent Development (ATD).
Saravanan has 18+ years of expertise in the combined IT industry and academia in Technology Strategy and Technology Management Consultation and has lectured and specialised in Microsoft Product Customisation. As an ICT advisor, Saravanan was involved in the implementation of CMMI standards in software companies and also conducted audits on software and general ICT controls.
Michelle is a Senior Accountant at a mid-tier accounting firm, and loves it. She has over 8 years’ experience working as a business service accountant and tax consultant. Michelle looks after a portfolio of clients across various industries, and enjoys observing different sector dynamics at play. Michelle’s skills include preparing financial statements, preparing tax returns, BAS, budgeting, cash flow analysis and tax consulting.
Shane has operated a finance broking business for over 20 years and obtained an Australian Credit Licence and developed the business to offer a wide range of financial services during this time.
Shane also operated a Business Consultancy service advising new and existing business owners on business establishment, development and profitability improvement. He’s previously been Director of two Investment, Property and Finance Companies as well as a Trustee of a Superannuation Fund.
Natasha has over 11 years’ industry experience working in various accounting roles – having worked as a tax accountant in private practice, a financial administrator in a solicitors firm and a financial planner in both private practices and in the banking industry. She moved into adult education 10 years ago following the birth of her third daughter and have taught at Gippstafe, Federation Training and Swinburne University
Peter has worked across various industry sectors including manufacturing, distribution, tertiary, freight forwarding, 3PL, online and consulting during my career in the logistics arena.
Peter loves the logistics industry for its variety of people, and one day is never the same. He understands what drives logistics businesses, the people, processes and technology required in successful organisations and also the constraints in managing complex, fast paced operations.
Glenn’s career started in the Banking sector, with experience in lending and securities. He then spent over 20 years in the Royal Australian Air Force as a Logistics Officer and later specialised in Education and Training, where he was a trainer, assessor and executive.
In 2007, Glenn established a private business as a consultant, specialising in Leadership, Management, Business and Professional Development training. He has qualifications in HR, Management, Leadership, Coaching, Warehousing, Transport and Logistics, the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and Advanced Facilitation. He has also trained in Professional Mentoring, Workplace and Leadership Coaching, Counselling and Conflict Management and underwent undergrad studies in Human Resources.
Belinda is a registered BAS agent and Certified Bookkeeper, holding vocational and tertiary qualifications in bookkeeping and accounting, training and assessment, small business management and mechanical engineering. She is a Xero Certified Advisor and Xero Payroll Certified and has had seven years’ experience in the financial services industry, working with businesses over a wide range of industries.
Belinda runs her own bookkeeping business alongside her role as a trainer here at Monarch Institute. She has a special interest in teaching students with learning difficulties, as two of her children are dyslexic.
John is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He started out with the large chartered practice Pricewaterhouse Coopers and since then has built a career in financial services, working with both large and small chartered accounting firms, financial services businesses both in Australia and overseas and a mid-tier industry superannuation fund. John also has a track record of similar roles in a volunteer capacity in the local community; he’s the treasurer of two community organisations and he is particularly interested in assisting and guiding students in the financial services arena with their studies and career development.
Despina has worked in various digital marketing and business development roles for regional airlines, hotels and cruise liners. She is currently the general Manager of Navii Digital. She is a published author on this experience, with a book called Adventures of a Balloon Girl.
In 2014 she followed her calling to teach and became a certified trainer and assessor launching her own training and mentoring practice. Since launching Despina has developed over 30 online and group training programs specialising in digital, social media marketing, and tourism.
Ben is a qualified financial planner holding a tertiary qualification in financial planning, as well as being a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®). He’s worked as a financial planner for an Australian bank for over four years. Before that, Ben worked for over seven years as an associate adviser for another financial planning company.
Drawing on nearly 20 years’ experience in the financial services sector, Adrian lectures in Investments and Financial Services at the University of New England (UNE) and works with businesses to enhance the way they get things done. As subject coordinator for UNE, he recently developed the first Financial Services Simulator in Australia, and post-graduate subject offering students practical, real-world experience.
Adrian has also worked with law firms, financial service providers, accountants and bookkeepers helping them streamline business operations and improve client experience.
Gary has vast experience and has worked across a range of industries – public infrastructure, mining, telecommunications, transport, retail and services, to name a few. Gary has briefed executives and trained the troops, and worked at all levels between. He has managed projects and helped others manage theirs better. Gary is a consultant, a trainer and an assessor and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) and a member and active participant in several professional associations.

Darryl is an experienced finance industry consultant working in both the residential and commercial finance sectors. He has worked in mortgage origination operations, been a Responsible Manager for an Australian Financial Services Licence and Head of Lending for a residential and commercial mortgage lender.

Graeme’s career in Banking and Finance commenced in 1972 and progressed with responsibilities as a Financial Adviser and Manager. From 2000 he moved into Finance Broking providing a full range of broker services and specialising in commercial and asset lending.

Nick is an experienced Chief Executive Officer, recognised for his expertise in financial management, developing and delivering strategy, business development, stakeholder engagement and building strong team cultures.
Passionate about providing experience focused education, as the CEO of Monarch Institute, he ensures all elements of the institute’s engagement are designed around a student-centric experience.
The course technology, education delivery and support all consider the student needs first. A strong advocate for strength in collaboration and strategic partnerships, he is a strong believer in looking to all industries for thought leadership and motivation.
Nick has shared his expertise with a number of Boards and Committees including the Bennelong Foundation, Rockwell Financial Services Group, Aurora Media Worldwide, Crown Content and is currently the Chair of Acorn Strategy.
Lisa has been the General Manager at Monarch Institute for 8 years and is passionate about creating practical career opportunities for students through education and training.
Lisa leads the operational aspects of Monarch’s vocational training, focussing on quality control, course development and student satisfaction.
With over 15 years’ experience in operational management across education and publishing, Lisa is adept at building high performing teams. She has been responsible for leading transformational change initiatives, fostering employee engagement and has contributed to improved and sustained high quality results.
Lisa has recently completed her Masters of Education, holds a Grad Dip (Ed) and recently completed the AICD course.
With a background in financial services spanning 20 years, Josh holds both Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Business (Financial Planning) degrees, a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
He is a qualified and practising Australian lawyer. Over his career, he owned and operated a wealth management firm, worked as a Senior Financial Planner at Westpac, and worked in fund accounting at Barclays Global Investors (London).
Josh was a previous founder of Advant Group, and has lectured for leading Universities and Private Training Organisations in finance and financial services including Monarch Institute, RMIT University, Singapore Institute of Management (SIM), Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) and Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade (SHIFT).
Cynthia is currently the Head of Teaching and Learning at Monarch, holding a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Cynthia has written a chapter for an Australian text book titled Personal Finance, first published by John Wiley and Sons in 2001 and has written course materials for the RMIT Master of Finance and Monarch Institute.
Cynthia holds a Bachelor of Economics (Monash), Master of Commerce (Hons) (Uni Melbourne), and has lectured at the AGSM, University of Melbourne, RMIT University and Whittier College in California over a period of 35 years
Darren is an experienced educator with a PhD in management and postgraduate qualifications in higher education who loves connecting education and people. Access to higher education and the opportunity for success are important to Darren.
He has established enduring partnerships across a diversity of industry, government, and education sectors throughout the Asia Pacific, each focussed on delivering the skills, knowledge and experience that students’ need to succeed.
With senior management and governance roles in universities as Dean Teaching and Learning and Chair of Academic Board sub-committees, and an Australian Award for University Teaching (AAUT), Darren has a breadth of experience and a holistic view of the education sector and its future needs.
Louise looks after Monarch’s marketing and direct sales teams across accredited and non accredited courses. Previously Louise worked at an international level in events and business development, at the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games, and successfully won business for the Melbourne Convention Bureau.
Louise loves working with industry to identify skills gaps and developing courses which are accredited learning opportunities curated by industry. She’s a past participant of the Melbourne Tourism Leadership Program and a current judge of the Victorian Tourism Awards.
Justin has a lifelong passion for education and its power to change people’s lives. A senior education professional and executive with extensive experience in a range of key areas of Australian and international education, his areas of expertise include the higher education, vocational, pathway and the international sector for both private and public providers as well as an in-depth familiarity with the student lifecycle.
Justin has a track record of successful start-ups and turning around underperforming educational business units into sustainable and profitable long-term enterprises. His strategic insight working simultaneously with public and private providers has enabled him to equip businesses to meet new challenges and capitalise on emerging opportunities.
Beth is responsible for Monarch’s VET Quality Framework. She has 20+ years experience in the vocational education and training sector. In particular, Beth manages Monarch’s requirements of the national regulator for Australia’s vocational education and training (VET) sector and the State funding contracts. Beth comes with a wealth of experience as both an experienced EAL trainer and manager of VET training. She keeps abreast of regulatory developments as well as evolving best practices in training and compliance.
Adrian is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) in Australia and holds degrees in Business Accounting and a higher Degree in Management. Adrian has held positions as Divisional Accountant, Financial Controller as well as Finance and Taxation Manger in various companies including Boeing, PKF (merged with BDO) and TriCare Group (One of the largest Aged Care Providers in Australia). Adrian has also been consulting with a number of clients since September 2014.
He brings considerable expertise in financial and management accounting; management of finance functions and teams; financial modelling; cashflow management; management and system administration of computerised accounting and payroll systems; system design and redesign and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
